LIMITATIONS
Slow Molecular Evolution
Rates
of molecular evolution (expressed as % sequence change per million
years) vary up to 100-fold among animal lineages. It will be
more difficult to diagnose young species in groups with slow
rates of evolution than those with rapid rates of molecular
evolution.
